Shimla: In wake of Corona pandemic, the 73rd Himachal Day was today celebrated as a low key affair with Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur presided over the symbolic State level function held at The Ridge Shimla. Chief Minister unfurled the tricolour and took salute from the Police contingent.
The morning sky was overcast and even though the pollution levels were down, but the chief minister, the police contingent and other dignitaries who attended the function all had masks on. Though the state has largely been able to contain the spread of coronavirus, but the government has made wearing of masks mandatory for all moving about in public places.
Education Minister Suresh Bhardwaj, Mayor Shimla Municipal Corporation Satya Kondal, Deputy Mayor Shelander Chauhan, Chief Secretary Anil Khachi, Director General of Police S.R. Mardi, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Sanjay Kundu, Secretary GAD Devesh Kumar, Advocate General Ashok Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Shimla Amit Kashyap, SP Omapati Jamwal, Principal Private Secretary to the Chief Minister Vinay Singh, Commissioner MC Shimla Pankaj Rai, Director Information and Public Relations Harbans Singh Brascon were present on the occasion among others.
