New Delhi: Member of Parliament Priya Dutt, fashion designer Sanjana Jon and singer Daler Mehandi, among others, have been given the Rajiv Gandhi Excellence Awards.
Punjab Governor Shivraj Patil gave away the awards to 16 people from different fields at a function Monday night to mark the 68th birth anniversary of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi.
Priya Dutt received the award for Communal Harmony and National Integration, Daler Mehandi won it for being the Best Singer of the Year.
The awards have been instituted by NGO Pehchan.
