Ministry of Agriculture approves 13.33 crores to Himachal Pradesh

The Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India has approved 13.33 crores to Himachal Pradesh under Macro Management of Agriculture as per Dr. J.C. Rana, the Director of Agriculture.

Under this programme, the crop improvement programme would get 3.86 crores, Agriculture Mechanization 1.78 crores, integrated Nutrient management 2.46 crores, Watershed Development Programme 3.00 crores, Water conservation/harvesting and lifting 1.52 crores while organic farming would be rendered 29 lacs and 40.25 lacs has been approved for crop diversification. High yielding seeds will be provided to the farmers. Subsidy of 600 on maize, 800 on pulses and 200 on Paddy per quintal would also be provided while an assistance of 30,000 was being provided on tractors and power tillers.

He said that the ATMA programme has been extended to all Districts. A target of 16.38 lac tones of food grains has been fixed for 2008-09, he added.
