Centre for Sustainable Development organised a cultural program at School for Special Children, Nagchala in District Mandi. This is school is being run by Sahyog, a Delhi based NGO.
The school has about thirty students with mental disabilites from all over Himachal. Students of Special School participated in singing and dance competitions and proved that they are no less than normal children, if given a chance.
Centre for Susutainable Development distributed fruits, sweets and drawing kits to the students of Special School. The incharge of the school told that it becomes very difficult for these students to lead normal lives because of their mental disabilities. The school not only takes special care of the students but also provides them vocational training so that they can become self-sufficient.
