World Heritage Kalka-Shimla rail track remains closed

Shimla: Heavy rains have badly hit the lifestyle of Himachal Pradesh and Kalka-Shimla world heritage rail track on which rail traffic remained suspended since Septemeber 19th still seems to remain off the track for few more days due to the recent heavy rain that has damaged the track at a number of points, said Shimla station superintendent P.S. Gill told IANS.
‘Most of the 96-km-long narrow gauge railroad has been repaired and cleared of debris and now the work on 15-km track between Shogi and Shimla is in progress,’ he added.
Every year this heritage rail track attracts a huge number of tourists for its scenic journey along the rail line.
