Governor appreciates efforts of CSK Himachal Pradesh Agriculture University

V.S.Kokje, Governor has lauded the efforts of CSK Himachal Pradesh Agricultural University in raising the socio-economic status of farmers of the state. The Governor, who is also Chancellor of the university, was addressing the university community after laying the foundation-stone of environmental science post graduate block in the college of agriculture.
He said that all out efforts should be made to increase the income of small and marginal farmers settled in far flung areas.
In a farewell function, Governor appreciated the efforts of out-going vice-chancellor Dr. D.S. Rathore for generating funds and building quality infrastructure at the campus.
The out-going Vice-Chancellor Dr. D. S. Rathore, underlined the importance of higher education in the development. He informed that he has tried to give reorientation in all academic, research and extension programmes to make his university a specialist in hill and mountain agriculture. His was the first university in the whole country to get ISO certification and now many collaborative programmes have been implemented to broaden the sphere of the university.
Government has appointed yesterday, Dr. Tej Pratap as Vice-Chancellor, for a period of three years or 65 years of age whichever is earlier with effect from the date he assumes the charge of the office of Vice-Chancellor.
