Rain Brings Relief From Soaring Temperatures To Dharamshala, Shimla

Dharamshala: The weather suddenly changed on Wednesday morning in Dharamshala as the hill station experienced torrential rain with strong wind, bringing relief from the hot weather. It was so dark that motorists turned on the lights of vehicles during the day.

The temperature dropped sharply, brightening the faces of tourists who made a dash for the hill station to seek relief from the scorching heat of the plain areas of the adjoining states. The temperature in Dharamsala, which was hovering around 30 to 32 degrees Celsius during the day, came down to 20 degrees Celsius.

Other parts of Himachal Pradesh have been experiencing brief spells of rain since last night. According to the Meteorological Centre,Shimla, the capital city experienced hail storm and rain amounting 50.2 mm, Dalhousie 28 mm, Keylong 13 and Kalpa 12.4mm, Chamba 8 mm and Bhunter 5.7 mm of rain.

Today’s Lowest Temperature in Himachal Pradesh is 2.5 °C at Keylong.
