Solan Farm University Students Seek A Better Learning Environment

Solan: Seeking a better learning environment, students of Dr Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Solan asked for introduction of interactive boards, more focus on classroom teaching, improving of internet facilities on the campus and extending of library timings.

The students raised these and other issues while interacting with Dr Parvinder Kaushal, who recently took over as the vice-chancellor of the university.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Kaushal said that efforts would be made to utilize modern aids of teaching and learning to make the education more career-oriented

He urged the students to improve the quality of their research and advised them to work on writing quality research papers in top journals during their postgraduate studies. He said that these publications will not only help them in their career but also act as a morale booster for conducting bigger and better research.

Assuring the students of making improvements by incorporating the suggestions put forth, the vice-chancellor said linking students’ research problems with research projects so that they get a chance to gain valuable work experience during their studies, will also be looked into.

Dr Kaushal added that opportunities to visit the best laboratories in the country in the concerned field will also be provided to the students so that they can see the working of the best institutions in the country and incorporate it in their own working.
