Will is my best friend: Jada Pinkett-Smith

New York, April 6 (IANS) Jada Pinkett-Smith says it is her strong bond of friendship with actor-husband Will Smith and the freedom they give to each other, which has helped them endure their 15 years as man and wife.

“Will is my best friend. He’s been by my side for some of the most difficult parts of my life. You always have that for your foundation,” Jada Pinkett-Smith told Huffington Post, reports dailymail.co.uk.

The couple married in December 1997, and have two children. They have gone through split rumours in the past, but they looked as happy as ever at a recent appearance during the premiere of their production – a documentary “Free Angela And All Political Prisoners”.

Jada Pinkett-Smith also says she gives Will a free hand to do what he wants.

“I’ve always told Will: You can do whatever you want as long as you can look at yourself in the mirror and be okay,” said the 41-year-old actress.

She added that she and Will allow each other to be with other partners because the pair are “very relaxed with one another”. She also admits she is reluctant to weigh in on her husband’s every moral decision.

“Because at the end of the day, Will is his own man,” she said.

‘I’m here as his partner, but he is his own man. He has to decide who he wants to be and that’s not for me to do for him,’ she continued, adding that the agreement goes both ways,” she added.
