India, Indonesia to enhance agricultural cooperation

Jakarta, April 2 (IANS) India and Indonesia have agreed to enhance collaboration in horticulture, natural resources management, agricultural engineering, crop science and food processing at a meeting held here.

A delegation consisting of officials and experts from the Indian ministries of agriculture and food processing visited Indonesia for the second meeting of India-Indonesia Joint Working Group on Agriculture March 26-27 in Bali, said an Indian embassy press release.

The meeting was held in pursuance of the MoU between the two countries signed in December 2008 for cooperation in the field of agriculture.

The two countries agreed to enhance collaboration, through projects, in the area of animal science, horticulture, natural resources management, agricultural engineering, crop science and food processing industry as well as capacity building through exchange of scientists.
