New Delhi, April 9 (IANS) The Delhi government Tuesday decided to merge electricity company Pragati Power Corporation Ltd. (PPCL) with Indraprastha Power Generation Co. Ltd. (IPGCL) for streamlining power generation.
“In order to ensure better functioning of generating unit, the cabinet has decided to merge PPCL into IPGCL,” said Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.
“The government felt necessary to streamline the functioning of generating companies by merging them into a single unit,” Dikshit told reporters after the cabinet meeting.
