Security beefed up for Gurgaon’s rape victim

Gurgaon, April 9 (IANS) A police van was deployed outside the house of a Gurgaon Class 12 student, who was allegedly raped by her father last week, to give her additional security, an official said Tuesday.

The van with five policemen, headed by an assistant sub inspector, has been deployed outside the house of the minor rape victim on Golf Course Road.

According to police sources, the family received a threat by phone from unidentified people.

“We have deployed a van outside the house of the victim as a precautionary measures,” Bhupinder Singh, assistant commissioner of police (DLF), told IANS.

Businessman Anil Kumar, 45, was arrested Thursday for sexually assaulting his 16-year-old daughter for over three years. He was sent to judicial custody.
