New Delhi: Jyoti Sharma’s forte is bold cuts and designs, but for the 20th edition of Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW) spring-summer, she takes inspiration from the royals. She will present designs personifying modern Indian princess and says her collection is meant for those who don’t follow crowd.
“My collection, titled Nrpusta means a king’s daughter, personifies modern Indian princess who has thrived through the most revolutionary journey till today. She is someone who is traditional by heart and modern in approach,” said Sharma, who retails under her label Bhanuni.
The collection is mix of Indian and western line with focus on short dresses, skirts and lehangas embroidered with Mughal motifs.
“The ensembles are gracefully crafted with Chanderi silk and raw silk and meshed with red, blue, beige, orange and black dominating the entire line,” she said.
The five-day fashion extravaganza will start Saturday at Pragati Maidan.
Talking about the target buyer, the designer said: “My collection is meant for a modern woman who doesn’t follow the crowd. She delightfully explores the young fashion by mixing the traditional art with her modern duties.”
