New Delhi: A 24-year-old woman committed suicide today morning by leaping off an elevated metro station here onto the road below, police said.
Karishma Narang, a teacher in a private school, jumped down onto the road from east Delhi’s Preet Vihar metro station around 8 A.M.
She was found near metro pillar number 95 and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her dead.
“No suicide note was recovered from her possession. Initial investigation reveals love angle behind her extreme step. Further probe is on,” said a police officer.
Narang left her east Delhi’s Krishna Nagar residence to go to school, but jumped from the metro station.
Last week Aug 15, a 60-year-old man jumped onto the tracks of the Tilak Nagar metro station. The man was saved as the driver of the metro rail applied the emergency brakes in time.
