Left says Himachal BJP is hand in glove with the corrupt

Shimla : The CPM and CPI have accused the ruling BJP in Himachal Pradesh of double standards as it was slyly campaigning against corruption but was also involved in deep corruption.

Holding anti-corruption rallies across the state Tuesday the two Left parties ridiculed the BJP in the state saying it needed to explain why it had close ties with the corrupt.

CPM leader Tikender Panwar said, “The BJP in the state is synonymous with the Jaypee group of industries, which is its favourite crony.”

“The BJP has been bribed to dole out concessions for opening of private universities,violations of section 118 and the tenancy act.”

Panwar said the ruling BJP has been many times indicted for working as a real estate mafia.The party has also reinstated corrupt officials of the state government.

The parties talked about Kangra MP Rajan Sushant’s serious corruption charges against his own party leadership in the state.

“Strong protests were held in Shimla,Chamba,Nahan,Kullu,Una,Hamirpur,Rampur,Rohru,Jogindernagar,Sarkaghat,Palampur,Kangra,Theog and other places,” Panwar said.

“In Shimla town CPM activists including students and people from a various sections of society held a rally outside DC office,lower bazaar and naz.The rally was addressed by senior party leaders,” he said.
