Two dead in trailer-truck accident in Himachal

Shimla: Two persons were killed and one grievously injured when the heavy duty trailer truck they were traveling in lost control and went off road and down the hill side near Shoghi, about 20 Km from here.

The trailer truck (HR-65-4195) was without a load and was on a journey from Shimla to Kalka when it met with an accident at about 11.30 p.m. on Wednesday, said the police spokesman.

Only one of the dead has been identified as Kuldeep Singh (26), a resident of Kurukhestra. Whereas the other dead person is yet to be identified, the injured person identified as Gurtej Singh is a resident of Ambala, the police said. The injured person has been admitted at IGMC, hospital in Shimla.

Cause of the accident could not be immediately ascertained, a case has been registered and investigations have been initiated, said the police spokesman.
