Himachal Founder Dr YS Parmar Remembered

Smt. Vidya Stokes, Leader of Opposition in H.P. Legislative Assembly, Shri Kaul Singh Thakur, Shri G.R. Musafir, Shri Suresh Bhardwaj, MLAs, Shri Kush Parmar, MLA and son of late Dr. Y.S. Parmar, his family members, former MLAs, Shri Narender Kataria, Mayor, Municipal Corporation, Shimla, Shri Ganesh Dutt, Vice-Chairman, HIMUDA, senior officers of the State Government, Municipal councillors and people from all walks of life also offered floral tributes to Dr. Parmar at the Ridge Maidan.

Later, a function was organized in H.P. Vidhan Sabha Library. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal said that the State Government was endeavouring to realize the dream of late Dr. Y.S. Parmar by making Himachal Pradesh, a developed, prosperous and role model State. He said that Dr. Parmar was a visionary leader who envisioned a State where every citizen had the opportunity to progress and prosper. He said that Dr. Parmar was respected by the people of the State by rising above political considerations.

Chief Minister said that late Dr. Parmar successfully led the State at the time of formation as well as later on till he remained the Chief Minister. He said that people of Himachal Pradesh would always remain indebted for the visionary leadership he provided to the State.

Parmar2Prof. Dhumal said that real tribute to late Dr. Y.S. Parmar would be to follow the path shown by him.

Chief Minister also launched the website on H.P. Legislative Assembly providing internet users access to the House proceedings daily and also released who’s who of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPs from the State since 1952 to date brought out by the Vidhan Sabha.

Shri Tulsi Ram, Speaker, H.P. Vidhan Sabha welcomed the Chief Minister. Paying tributes to late Dr. Y.S. Parmar, he said that Dr. Parmar had the vision of making H.P. a self reliant State. He said that his contribution to the State was immense.

Smt. Satyavati Parmar, former MP, Shri I.D. Dhiman, Education Minister, Shri Ravinder Ravi, Irrigation and Public Health Minister, Smt. Vidya Stokes, Leader of Opposition in the H.P. Legislative Assembly, Pandit Khimi Ram, MLA and President, State BJP, Shri Kaul Singh Thakur, MLA and President, H.P. Congress Committee, Members of State Legislative Assembly, former MLAs, Chairmen and Vice-Chairmen of various Boards and Corporations, Members of different political parties, senior officers and others were present on the occasion.
