Himalaya International profits jumps 31.3 percent

[lang_en]Shimla: Himalaya International Ltd, a Paonta Sahib based agri export company has reported a profit of Rs 3.33 crore for the second quarter of the financial year.

Making the announcement Manmohan Malik, chairman Himalaya International said that against a profit of Rs 2.54 crore achieved in corresponding quarter last year we have registered a growth of 31.10 percent in the current year.

He said that operating profit of the company for Q2 FY09 increased by 39.69% to Rs 4.54 crores as against Rs3.25 crores for the corresponding period in the previous year.

The sales growth reported for Q2 FY 09 was recorded at Rs 13.48 crore as against Rs.10.76 crore for the same period last fiscal marking a growth of 25.27 percent.

Revenues for the second quarter stood at Rs 13.69 crores as against Rs.10.76 crores for the corresponding period in previous year which is an increase of 27.23 percent, he disclosed.

Stagnation in US export sales was compensated by appreciating rupee and rise in domestic sales, said Malik.[/lang_en]
