Himachal to consider second phase of HPU outside Shimla

Chief Minister said that State Government was considering to construct the second phase of the University at some better and open space in the outskirts of the capital town where adequate and spacious infrastructure would be created to cater to the quality educational facilities. He said that one more self contained block would be constructed to start the five year degree course in the legal studies within the University campus. He said that heritage status of the Ava Lodge complex would be upheld and the building would be restored and utilized as the residence of the Vice Chancellor of the University. He said that funds would not be any constraint in developing the University as a most impressive, academically well maintained and self contained campus so that it could emerge as the centre of par excellence learning.
