Himachal provides exemption on transportation of apples and potatoes

Himachal Pradesh Government has exempted all goods carriages coming from neighbouring States for the transportation of only apples and potatoes from the requirement of obtaining a permit under Section 66(1) of the Motor Vehicular Act for plying in the State of Himachal Pradesh.

The exemption shall be operative with effect from 1st August till 31st October, 2007. The exemption will be available in respect of only those vehicles which come from neighbouring States of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi and UT Chandigarh, for transportation of apples and potatoes from Himachal Pradesh to places outside the State.
