Shimla: Doctors from Community Medicine Department of IGMC, Shimla taking part in AIDS Awareness campaign programme at Shimla today on World AIDS day.
The Department of community medicine, IGMC, Shimla in collaboration with Rotary and Inner Wheel Club, Shimla today observed the World AIDS Day as a part of the Global World AIDS Campaign. The theme for this year is ‘Stop AIDS- Keep the Promise-Accountability’.
The special feature of the function was a unique venture of ‘Ask the Doctors’ where the doctors of IGMC answered the queries of the general public regarding AIDS. Red badges signifying commitment towards the cause, were given to all the patients visiting OPDs in the hospital. Continuous LCD projection on AIDS was held in the central Registration Hall for imparting basic knowledge about AIDS.
Various competitions like Slogan Writing, Poster Making, Declamation Contest was held in the premises of the college. Various speakers from different colleges also spoke on the occasion. A Question-Answer Session marked the end of function in which students and faculty of IGMC took an active part.
