Centre will sanction 400 crores for Rural Development Projects in Himachal Pradesh during current financial year. Thakur Gulab Singh told that the amount will be sanctioned under Bharat Nirman Programme and Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojna for undertaking various projects to connect additional 300 panchayats of the state with roads. The centre has already sanctioned first installment of 75 crores to the state while the remaining amount would be released shortly.
Public Works Minister told Dr. Raghuvansh Prasad Singh that time limit for completion of project works under Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojna should be extended from present 18 months because of various climatic and geographic conditions prevailing in the state.
Dr. Raghuvansh Prasad Singh assured that Centre Government will give top priority to the issues raised by the state government and appreciated the efforts of the state for highlighting these relevant issues. He told that centre government will provide liberal financial assistance to the state government for completing all the ongoing projects in time bound manner.
