KUMARHATTI: A young married woman had allegedly set herself on fire after sprinkling kerosene oil at Thadi Bhola village near Nalagarh this morning. As per the information available, Champa Devi (25) had gone to the kitchen at around 6.30 am while her husband, Sanjay Singh was sleeping outside the home.
Sanjay Singh and neighbors rushed for help after Champa Devi cried in pain after setting herself on fire. She was rushed to Civil Hospital, Nalagarh and referred to PGI, Chandigarh later on where she breathed her last. The deceased had got 65 to 70 percent burn injuries.
According to Sanjay, everything was normal in home. There was no such issue that could force Champa to take such extreme step, he maintained. Meanwhile it was learnt that the deceased was mentally upset and badly depressed.
