Nawanshahar: Rubbishing all overtures about rejoining Shiromani Aklai Dal, Peoples’ Party of Punjab (PPP) president Manpreet Singh Badal strongly refuted any plans of disbanding the new party.
He was reacting to chief minister Parkash Singh Badal’s statement about doors always being open for Manpreet to join back into SAD.
“Come what may, I would never return to Shiromani Akali Dal,†Manpreet is reported to have said when questioned by media persons.
Reacting to two PPP founding leaders Kushaldeep Singh Dhillon and Jagbir Singh Brar, deserting the party before entering the electoral fray, Manpreet said it was difficult path that the party had chosen and those susceptible by other motives than the good of Pumjab were bound to find the going tough.
Denying that there was any bungling of funds as the two leaders had alleged, Manpreet said, “they forget that I was the finance minister of Punjab before forming a new party.â€
