Jammu: To bridge the digital divide and create jobs in the booming information technology sector, the Jammu and Kashmir government has decided to set up an Information Technology Park in the valley.
The government plans to establish an IT park in the Ompora area of Budgam district, SS Slathia, minister for industry and information technology said here today.
Spread over 19 acres of land the part would create job opportunities for many. The government sector has limited number of openings, he added.
Department officials are working on the project and we expect the land transfer for the park to be completed soon, said the minister.
A high level committee headed by industries and commerce director has been constituted so as to ensure time bound completion of the project, said Slathia.
