Having faced the brute force of a baton, the BJP today demanded immediate dismissal of the Virbhadra Singh led congress government.
Talking to the media state party president Jai Ram Thakur said that we have conveyed the action demanded to governor VS Kokje. He also demanded setting up a judicial inquiry by a sitting judge of the High Court to look into the high handed manner in which the government tried to suppress the opposition.
“The party will be filing police complaints and September 1 will be observed as a black day,” said Thakur. Reading out a list of the injured people, he said that the congress party was dejected because of the an audio CD, in which the voices recorded point to the chief minister and his wife indulging in corruption as well as a birthday bash shown on national television where one of his favoured ministers was seen dancing with semi nude girls.
“With defeat in the coming assembly staring in the face the congress government was bent upon taking a confrontationist posture and was suppressing obvious dissent,” said Thakur.
National vice president Shanta Kumar who along with former chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal and other leader were also present said that congress government was shamelessly using muscle power to prevent the opposition from raising burning issues. Kumar who came wearing a arm sling to the media conference said that the stone injury suffered earlier in the day was stitched by the doctors.
Dhumal said that the government’s action was that of a frustrated mindset and today’s incident would prove to be the last nail in the Virbhadra Singh’s government.
