Mumbai: Patel Engineering Limited (PEL), a prominent Mumbai-based infrastructure firm, has been declared the lowest bidder (L1) by the Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (HPPCL) for the first package of the Renukaji Dam Project.
The contract is valued at ?910.08 crores, including GST.
Project Overview and Scope
Located at Village Dadahu in the Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh, the project is a critical initiative designed to enhance water storage, ensure reliable supply, and support hydropower generation.
The scope of the 30-month contract includes:
Diversion Tunnels: Construction of three tunnels (9.5-meter diameter) with lengths of 1,379m, 1,468m, and 1,590m.
Infrastructure: Development of three inlet and outlet portals and 6 kilometers of access roads.
Technical Installations: Installation of hydro-mechanical gates and specialized instrumentation to ensure safety and operational efficiency.
