Chamba: On completion of 150 years of Bhanodi gompa a three day virat mahotasva is being organised at Bhanodi Gompa 100 kilometre from Chamba town. The committee decided to celebrate its establishment with programmes starting w.e.f. 25th of May 2009 and will continue till April 2010.
On June 15 to 17, 2009 the three days virat Dance Programme is being organised. North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala in collaboration with Department of Language Art and Culture, Shimla and district Padma Chhokharling Bodh Gompa Bhanodi Establishment Committee folk dance will be performed by Punjab, Haryana and Rajsthan.
Bawa sonam Gyatso, President Bhanodi Gompa Association, disclosed that in the 2007 North Zone Culture Centre, Patiala in collaboration with the Department of Language Art and Culture, Shimla sponsored very good troups at Bhanodi, the people of the area enjoyed a lot, he added this year they hope more parties will visit the Bhanodi and perform good folk dances.
A group of Gujjars from Sahoo area will also visit Bhanodi to perform their traditional dance which is very popular in gujjar tribes, they will perform their dance on 15th June at Bhanodi, Bawa Sonam Gyatso disclosed.
