By-poll For 3 Assembly and 1 Parliamentary Seat in Himachal To Be Held On 30 October

Shimla: The Election Commission on Tuesday (28th September 2021) announced the election schedule for three assembly seats and one parliamentary seat of Himachal Pradesh for which by-polls need to be held. Polls for these seats will be held with 2 other parliamentary seats and 27 assembly seats in the country.

According to the schedule released, polling will be held on 30th October, counting of votes would be done on 2nd November and the election process would be completed 5th November.

The elction notification would be issued o 1st October, the last date of nominations would be 8th October, and last date for withdrawal would be 13th October.

The Mandi parliamentary seat in Himachal Pradesh had fallen vacant because of the death of BJP MP Ramswaroop Sharma.

The Fathepur assembly seat in Kangra had fallen vacant because of the death of Congress MLA Sujan Singh Pathania, the Arki seat had fallen vacant because of the death of former chief minister Virbhadra Singh, a Congress legislator, and the Jubbal & Kotkhai assembly seat had fallen vacant because of the death of BJP MLA Narinder Bragta.

In Haryana, a by-poll will be held for the Ellanabad seat. Abhay Chautala, the MLA from INLD after expressing his solidarity with the farmers’ agitation had resigned from the seat in protest against the 3 central farm laws.
