Manali: The tourist township of Manali has registered its first Covid-19 positive case, whereas the popular Kullu valley so far has recorded 22 cases.
A 22 year old young woman who travelled to Delhi on 10th July and returned by taxi to her home in Manali on 11th July. She was placed under home quarantine and her sample testing was conducted by Mandi Medical College lab, which on Tuesday evening was reported as positive.
The girl has been shifted to Kullu hospital for institutional quarantine of 14 days.
Of the 22 Covid-19 positive patients found so far in Kullu district, 7 have recovered and have been sent home.
Himachal records 10 Covid-19 death
Himachal on Tuesday recorded its 10th Covid-19 death when a 75 year old woman from Sarkhaghat, who was under treatment, succumbed to the infection at Mandi Medical College. The victim, who was a diabetic, was also suffering from blood cancer and was under treatment in hospital since 16th July.
On Tuesday, 44 new Covid cases were reported in the state, with 20 of them being registered in Sirmaur district.
Since the pandemic broke out in February-March, there have so far been 1674 positive cases recorded in the state of which 1608 have recovered, 570 are active, 15 patients migrated to other states and 10 have succumbed to Coronavirus.
