Dharamshala: Living out in some of the remotest valleys of Himachal, a delegation of residents of Chhota & Bara Bhangal demanded of chief minister Jai Ram Thakur that their region in Kangra be connected by a road.
Led by Mulakh Raj Premi, the legislator from Baijnath, the delegation met the chief minister at the state assembly complex here today.
The chief minister was made aware of various problems that the valley residents faced in these difficult areas, which includes remaining cutoff from the country during winter months. The delegation urged him to connect the region by road so that people can avail road facility which would also promote tourism and create livelihood opportunities in the area. Chhota and Bara Bhangal are some of few regions in the state which do not have any road facilities so far.
Chief minister Jai Ram Thakur assured the delegation that their demands would be considered sympathetically.
Bara-Bhangal, deep in the Himalayas, at an altitude of 2,575 metre is a large village with very scenic surrounding but the habitation is hard to reach on foot. Chhota Bhangal village, on the banks of a lovely Lama Dugh rivulet, is gaining popularity for being completely unknown to tourists.
