Manali Holds 3 Day Himachal International Film & Art Festival

 

Kullu-Manali: The second Himachal International Film and Art Festival ( HIFAF) that got underway on Friday was attended, among others, by well known Bollywood personalities.

After inaugurating the festival Vivek Bhatia MD HP Tourism Development Corporation said that such events enabled young filmmakers of state to showcase their talent. “The state is trying to encourage those conducting such activities,” he said.

Festival directors Raja Singh Malhotra said that after the success of the first edition of the film festival last year, the response from artists and filmmakers this year is very encouraging. “We are working towards making it the flagship film festival of the state,” he added.

Among the actor participants who attended the festival was 60 year old Thakri Devi, a resident of Burua village in Kullu valley. Though not in best of health, Thakri Devi, who has acted in the film Second Chance, attended the festival to watch the film with other audience members.

Deepti Naval

Well known actress Deepti Naval did attend the festival. Speaking at the event she said that such festivals played a pivotal role in shaping and guiding future artists.

Other well known film personalities who attended the festival included Ketan Mehta, Raghuveer Yadav, Pratibha Ranta, Sameer Sharma and Saqib Ayub.

The festival did feature films like Mirch Masala, Second Chance, No Winter Holiday, Chashma and A Fly on the Wall.
