Shimla: Skye Air Mobility, leading drone-technology-based logistics firm, has entered into an agreement with HPSEDC (H.P. State Electronics Development Corporation Ltd.) to lend its support by offering payload as a service throughout the State of Himachal Pradesh.
According to the Skye Air Mobility spokesperson , the agreement was formalized in the presence of Mukesh Repaswal, Managing Director, HPSEDC and Anil Semwal, General Manager HPSEDC, Govt. of Himachal Pradesh and Shrikant Sarda, Co-Founder & Director – Govt. Business, Skye Air Mobility, at IT Bhavan, Shimla.
”We are happy to be associated with the Government of Himachal Pradesh. This association is significant as connectivity and logistics are a serious challenge in the state due to the hilly terrain. Through our services, we will help overcome the problem of poor road and rail connectivity. This will also act as a model for the other states to embrace drone technology faster. This will usher a new era in the directions of using technology to serve the people at the ground level. The Government of Himachal Pradesh has come out with a very optimistic and progressive approach towards drone deliveries and with the support of Ministry of Civil Aviation, we look forward to establishing regular flights in the State of Himachal Pradesh to serve the people,” said Ankit Kumar, CEO, Skye Air Mobility
Skye Air will be using its most reliable UAV, Skye Ship One, to facilitate real-time deliveries.
Further commenting on the agreement with Skye Air Mobility, Mr. Mukesh Repaswal, Managing Director, HPSEDC said, “The empanelment of various drone service providers and companies is being carried out as a part of the Project GARUD (Governance and Reforms Using Drones) in Himachal Pradesh. Skye Air has been empaneled with HPSEDC for provision of drones as a service and we hope that with their experience they will work towards improving the last mile delivery of services, especially in the medical sector in the remote regions of the State. ”
Vandana Joshi Associate PR Manager Skye Air informed that Skye Air has already made two successful drone delivery projects in the past in Himachal. Skye Air showcased its capability and products at the Drone Mela, Dharamshala which was organized by Himachal Govt in the month of Dec 2021. This year in the month of February, Skye Air has initiated a 3-day long BVLOS trial in the Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh .
The company has worked with leading hyper-local delivery, logistics and ecommerce giants such as Dunzo Digital, BlueDart Express, Flipkart Internet, alongside healthcare players like Aster, Redcliffe, SRL and others.
Skye Air recently made the news for completing 1500+ flights delivering numerous payloads across 8 cities in India. It is also worthwhile to mention that Skye Air’s vision is in sync with our Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of “Making India a global drone hub by 2030”.
