35 At Kangra Police Training Centre Test Covid Positive

Dharamshala: Coronavirus pandemic infections, like in rest of Himachal Pradesh, continue to rise in Kangra the largest district of the state.

On Wednesday of the 49 postive tests detected, 35 were that of policemen undergoing training at the Daroh centre. All 35 positive police personnel at the training centre have been isolated.

Where infections are rising so is the number of patients recovering. The district recorded 175 corona patients who have recovered from the virus infection today.

A police official said that the entire campus of the training centre Daroh was sanitized and the prime contacts of the infected personnel were being traced. It should be noted that in this police training centre 38 police personnel were also found corona positive on September 28 and 29

CMO Kangra Dr Gurdarshan Gupta informed that with today’s 49 new Corona-infected cases, the number of infected people has reached 2512 in Kangra district. Till Wednesday, there are 363 active patients in the district whereas 53 people have lost their lives due to this deadly virus in the district.

In Shimla, education minister Suresh Bhardwaj is the third cabinet minister who has tested positive for coronavirus.

Immediately after inauguration of the Atal Tunnel Rohtang by Prime Minister Modi, chief minister Jai Ram Thakur had gone into self quarantine as he had come into contact with an party legislator who had turned out to be Covid positive.
