Waknaghat : The upcoming institution of excellence, Bahra University, Shimla Hills, held its first convocation at Waknaghat yesterday (26.4.2015) that was presided over by Justice Arjan Kumar Sikri, Judge of the Supreme Court.
At the convocation, 535 students of Civil Engineer 39, Computer Science & Engineering 52, Mechanical Engineering 72, Electronics & Communication Engineering 53, MBA 212, BBA 38, B. Sc (HMCT) 24, MTM 14, M-Tech (CSE) 26 and M. Pharmacy 5, were awarded their degrees, and 48 meritorious students were awarded with Gold Medals for excelling in different courses.
Speaking on the occasion Justice Sikri asked the students to work hard to achieve their goals. ” Success comes from hard work and honesty and one should not deviate from the path honesty for short term gains, he said.
Retired judge of the Punjab & Haryana High Court Justice Jasbir Singh, who was guest of honour on the occasion asked the students to be sensitive towards a sense of duty for society and the nation. Justice Singh awarded Gold Medals to the meritorious students.
Chancellor S. Gurvinder Singh Bahra, in his vote of thanks, congratulated degree recipients and thanked them and their parents for trusting Bahra University in its initial time. Remembering initial days of the Bahra University, Chancellor said that passing out students are the founder of the Bahra University.
Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Daljit Singh said that Bahra University was committed for achieving excellence in academics and holding of its first convocation was a dream comes true
