Silent power PC’s Cooling copper foam makes your fan noise free!

Silent Power PC has been created by a German startup. It is a desktop PC that is compact and works on the principle of an innovative cooling solution, which is set to replace the conventional noisy fans.  It has all the hardware components of a desktop computer in an exceptionally compact size. The Silent Power uses copper foam that has gigantic surface area and amazing conductivity to deliver the coolest performance.

The foam is exceptionally successful in dissipating heat, so much so that the it eliminates the need for fans at all. And surprisingly the external temperature never touches the 50° C mark. The Silent Power is fired up with an Intel quad-core i7-4785T 2.2 GHz processor, 8 or 16 GB of RAM and comes with a graphic card from NVIDIA GTX 760. Windows 8.1 is what it works on and has the usual features like Wi-Fi, Ethernet, HDMI, DVI and USB to offer.

Well we wonder why nobody thought of it earlier. The copper body is always in touch with the CPU and the GPU with the help of a thermal paste. This paste is the secret ingredient that keeps absorbing the heat and releasing it to the copper foam. The design of the heat buffer is such that the distribution of the hest is even. In other words an active CPU can guide to heat to the GPU AREA. And only when both of them get heated will they direct the heat towards the copper sponge. The design is also unique since the CPU and the GPU are on the top of the pile, instead of being at the bottom.

And incase you are wondering how small it is, it just measures just 160 mm (6.2 in) wide, 100 mm (4 in) deep, and 70 mm (2.75 in) tall. In order to achieve this however, the designers had to rely on an external power source, but that also means that this super silent cooling device only weighs 1.5kg. And the list just does not end here, the designers of Silent Power claim that it comes with an inbuilt sensor that transforms the unit to a standby mode in the lack of movement in the rooms and after a predefined time locks it up.

The project has a long way to go and is looking for crowd funding at the mount. Howver, they are accepting advance orders in three categories – 8 GB RAM, 500 GB HDD base model for US$930, a 26 GB RAM, 500 GB HDD model for US$1,030 and a 16 GB RAM, 1,000 GB SSD for a price tag of US$1,550.
