As the International Shivratri Festival-2014 at Mandi is round the corner, activists have started expressing opposition of holding the Cultural Nights program at Paddal Ground.
Opposed by both local people and activists, the venue was last year shifted from Seri Manch to the Paddal Ground.
Mandi Adhikar Manch (MAM) activists two days ago formed a human chain carrying placards at Seri Manch where they demanded that the venue for holding Cultural Nights be not shifted to Paddal Ground.
Not only the long legacy of holding the festival at the popular venue would come to an end but the historical importance of the place would be affected as well, the Manch stated publically.
MAM has sought the intervention of the District Administration to revert back to Seri Manch for hosting of the cultural night festivities.
The management committee of the festival has sent out invitations to 215 deities for Shivratri Fest.
