Congress leader named Sikkim governor

New Delhi, July 3 (IANS) Congress leader Shriniwas Dadasaheb Patil has been appointed the new governor of Sikkim, an official statement said here Wednesday.

A former civil servant, Patil will replace incumbent B.P. Singh.

Patil has also been a member of 13th and 14th Lok Sabha, representing Karad seat from Maharashtra.
