New Delhi, June 17 (IANS) The opposition BJP Monday called the Congress’ cabinet reshuffle a “lame exercise” and said that it would fail to make any impact on the 2014 general elections.
“It is a lame exercise which may not have any impact on the country,” BJP spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman told IANS.
“If their objective was to send the message that economic and policy paralysis will be gotten over, the message will not be conveyed by this reshuffle,” she said.
The BJP leader said the leaders elevated in the re-jig were totally disconnected from people.
“They have elevated those leaders who are totally disconnected from the people. (The reshuffle) will not have the impact the Congress expects,” she added.
Meanwhile, the Communist Party of India (CPI) said it was a “necessity”.
“It was a necessity for the government since many of the Congress’ allies have left,” D. Raja said.
