Nawaz Sharif vows to resolve energy crisis

Islamabad, June 5 (IANS) Nawaz Sharif Wednesday vowed to deal with the worst energy crisis the country is currently facing, shortly after he was elected the country’s prime minister for the third time.

Highlighting the priorities of his government, Nawaz Sharif said a comprehensive national plan of action has been framed. He said his new government accepts the challenges but will not made hollow slogans to hoodwink the people.

“The country is faced with multiple challenges including power outages, price hike, unemployment, lawlessness and terrorism,” Nawaz Sharif said.

He added that he will approach all political leaders to seek their support for the solution of the country’s problems.

He pledged to work day and night to change the destiny of the people and country.

“All the doors for misadventurism must be closed forever,” the prime minister-elect said.

He said he is grateful to the nation for giving him the responsibility to serve the

nation.

“I will not hurt the trust of the people reposed in me,” he said.

He also assured the opposition lawmakers that his government will hold them in high esteem and will seek their guidance in running the country’s affairs.

PPP leader Makhdoom Amin Fahim congratulated Nawaz Sharif and assured that his party will support him on issues of national interest.
