Manisha gorged on pizza on Cancer Survivors Day (Movie Snippets)

New Delhi, June 3 (IANS) Actress Manisha Koirala, who has battled ovarian cancer, says she spent June 2, International Cancer Survivor Day, by visiting a temple, eating pizza and just relaxing.

“Oh yeah. June 2nd was a cancer survivor day. Enjoyed going to temple, ate a slice of pizza, watched ‘Star Trek’, walked 3 miles,” Manisha posted on Twitter.

The 42-year-old, who carved her own niche in the Hindi film industry with films like “Bombay”, “1942: A Love Story” and “Dil Se..”, was treated in the US. She has now recovered and she is expected to return to India in July.

Mumbai monsoon makes Anurag Kashyap nostalgia

The rains in Mumbai Monday made filmmaker Anurag Kashyap nostalgic. It was on this date 20 years back that he had come to Mumbai, and back then too, it had rained.

“3rd june 1993…I stepped off a train in Mumbai…It’s been 20 years…it rained that day and it rains now,” tweeted Kashyap.

Originally from Uttar Pradesh, Kashyap is known for films like “Black Friday”, “No Smoking”, “Dev D”, “Gulaal” and the two-part series “Gangs of Wasseypur” – each critically acclaimed.

The filmmaker was recently awarded the ‘Chevalier dans l’ordre des Arts et Lettres’ (Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters) honour by the French government at the 66th Cannes International Film Festival.

‘Yeh Jawaani…’ makes Shilpa Shetty cry

Actress Shilpa Shetty was so touched by the characters of “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani” (YJHD) that she ended up crying while watching the movie.

“Watched a film aftr a long time, lovveed YJHD. Made me laugh, cry and fall in love with all the characters. Superbly written, directed and produced,” (sic) tweeted Shilpa.

The movie, which released Friday, features Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Kalki Koechlin and Aditya Roy Kapur. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, it is produced by Karan Johar.

Shilpa is praises for all.

“Superb performances by Ranbir and Deepika…take a bow Ayaan and Karan. Must watch tweetos. Full on entertainment,” she added.
