New Delhi: Congress chief Sonia Gandhi Sunday included former union ministers including Ajay Maken, C.P. Joshi and Gurudas Kamat in the all powerful Congress Working Committee (CWC) while dropping senior leaders Birender Singh and D.R. Shandil.
While Shandil is a minister in the Himachal Pradesh government, Birender Singh could be given a government post in the cabinet reshuffle scheduled Monday, said party sources.
Former union minister Shakeel Ahmed and senior leader Mohan Prakash were moved up from the list of permanent invitees to the CWC to the main body.
Former Punjab chief minister Amarinder Singh, who was removed from the post of state unit chief after the party lost the 2012 assembly polls to Akali Dal, was rehabilitated by being included in the list of permanent invitees to the CWC along with senior Andhra Pradesh leader K.S. Rao.
Among those who were dropped from the list of permanent invitees are Jagmeet Singh Brar, former union minister Jagdish Tytler and Bihar incharge Gulchain Singh Charak.
