Krishna Tirath to attend Commonwealth women’s conference

New Delhi, June 14 (IANS) Women and Child Development Minister Krishna Tirath will participate in a Commonwealth conference on women’s affairs in Dhaka June 17-19.

Officials Friday said the deliberations in the meeting themed ‘Women’s Leadership for Enterprise’ will focus on elaborating strategic measures for achieving gender equality and women’s empowerment across the commonwealth countries.

The meeting will facilitate exchange of views between the countries on key issues of practical policy concerns, they said.

It will also provide an opportunity to discuss priorities for the End Term Review Report of the Commonwealth Plan of Action for Gender Equality 2005-2015 (PoA) besides developing a collective Commonwealth perspective on the emerging post-2015 Global Development Agenda.
