Patna, June 16 (IANS) Janata Dal-United (JD-U) president Sharad Yadav announced Sunday that his party had ended its 17-year-old alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
He also said he was quitting as the convenor of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
“The JD-U is formally out of NDA and we have ended our alliance with the BJP,” Yadav told the media along with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
He said the decision was taken after discussions with all party leaders.
