Graham Walker dies of cancer

London, June 4 (IANS) Comedian Graham Walker of the British comedy band The Grumbleweeds died fighting cancer. He was 68.

He was diagnosed with cancer in 2011 and died Sunday, just two weeks after his birthday, reports dailymail.co.uk.

He was one of the founder members of the band that came together in the 1960s and performed music and comedy. The band made its name with the BBC radio show “The Grumbleweeds Radio Show”, which ran from 1979 to 1988 and won the Best Radio Show prize at The Television and Radio Industries Awards in 1983.

Comedian Jimmy Cricket tweeted: “Graham was another true comedy clown with enormous talent and the Grumbleweeds were a fabulous comedy outfit. He was great company too!”

His death comes weeks after he signed on for pantomime Peter Pan in Crewe, England this Christmas, alongside actor Adam Woodyatt.

Woodyatt tweeted: I was so looking forward to working with Graham Walker #Grumbleweeds this Christmas. Sadly another comedy legend has passed away too soon.”
