Bhubaneswar, May 3 (IANS) The Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), a unit of state-run Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), said Friday it has registered its best production of hot metal and crude steel in the first month of this fiscal.
The steel plant in Rourkela, about 515 km from here, produced 1.93 lakh tonnes of hot metal, 1.78 lakh tonnes of crude steel and 1.61 lakh tonnes of saleable steel in April, the company said in a statement.
The plant had produced 1.8 lakh tonnes of hot metal, 1.7 lakh tonnes of crude steel and 1.6 lakh tonnes of saleable steel during the same period last year.
