Punjab Police raid Gurgaon builder’s office

Gurgaon: The office of a realtor was Monday raided in Gurgaon by Punjab Police in connection with a complaint of a Rs.210 crore fraud in Ferozepur in Punjab, Haryana Police said.

The raid was conducted at the company’s office in Time Tower on the Mehrauli-Gurgaon Road and houses of its officials in Sector 28, a Gurgaon police official said.

No official of the Kolkata-headquartered builder was available to comment on the development.

The raid followed a criminal case filed by H.S. Sodhi, managing director, Fortune Rider CHR group, a Jalandhar-based builder, in Punjab July 28, 2012.

“The developers cheated us with forged documents they used for making flats for armymen through us in Ferozepur cantonment area,” Sodhi told.

Punjab Police raided the developers’ Gurgaon office in search of over half a dozen officials of the realtor, including its managing director and director.

Sodhi alleged that some sub-contractors of the developer, whose Gurgaon office was raided, had lodged three different first information reports against the company for cheating, conspiracy and forgery.

The chief judicial magistrate of Ferozepur had issued non-bailable warrant against the accused developer’s officials May 10, 2013, Sodhi said.

A Gurgaon police officer, who assisted Punjab Police in the raid, said none of the accused were found in the office during the searches.
