Los Angeles, April 9 (IANS/EFE) Reyli, a Mexican singer-songwriter, is preparing a new album with a romantic theme that will hit the market this summer.
“I’m working on a new record of 11 unreleased numbers. They’re songs of love and lack of love for those who are on the point of slitting their wrists, but we’re going to give them a little music about what, at times, we like or what pains us in our souls to hear,” said Reyli in an interview with EFE.
“I’m writing all the songs and we’ve moved forward about 80 percent on the production work, and so I think that at the end of the summer we’re going to release the first musical cut to offer our fans a little taste of everything that will come out on the album,” he said.
In 2011, Reyli released “Bien Acompanado”, an album of duets.
“Since I released ‘Bien Acompanado’ I’ve been so busy on tours that I haven’t had time to devote myself to working on a new album; but this year I had to stop the performances in January to dedicate myself to the new album,” said the writer of Beyonce’s number “Amor Gitano”.
Reyli said that he still doesn’t know what he’s going to call the new album, for which he wrote 25 songs and selected the 11 that are the ones he feels his fans will enjoy the most.
Reyli Barba Arrocha, who is known in the music world simply as Reyli, was born in Ciudad Juarez, where as a boy he learned to sing and write songs, like his first one – “Cancion al caballo blanco” – inspired by one of the horses on his parents’ ranch.
“Thank God, I’ve received the blessings of many artists who seek me out so I will write songs for them,” said the artist who has composed numbers for Thalia (“Ensename a vivir”) and Conjunto Primavera (“Te llore”), among others.
