Panaji, April 16 (IANS) Five people were arrested in Goa Tuesday for drugging and raping a 15-year girl who is suspected to be known to some of the accused, police said.
The incident took place in Mapusa town, a short distance from here, police said, refusing to give any more details about when it took place or the identity and age of the arrested accused.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Seraphin Dias said the accused hailed from Assnora village located near Mapusa.
“The arrests have happened just now. We cannot reveal any more information right now. We are interrogating the accused,” he said, refusing to elaborate.
The official, however, said the victim was known to some of the accused and was drugged before the rape.
