Man held for concealing dead father’s corpse in Italy

Rome, April 27 (IANS/AKI) An unemployed 44-year-old drug addict has been arrested near Rome after police discovered the decomposed body of his elderly father hidden in the family home.

The man has been collecting the 1,400 euro monthly pension belonging to his father, who is believed to have been dead for two years and who would now be 90.

Police said they were investigating the cause of the death of the man’s father, and did not rule out murder.

The pensioner’s body was found concealed behind a brick and cement wall in a bedroom in the house in Subiaco, some 40 km east of Rome.

The father and son had lived alone at the property.
